Ultramax Events - Charity Focused
Racing To Save Sight
Ultramax Events started as a fundraising division of the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation (MLERF). Now privately owned, UE continues to support the mission of MLERF, making MLERF the chosen charity of Ultramax Events by providing an avenue for people to learn about and support the Foundation. If you would lik to help support MLERF community programs (outlined below), please check or choose the additional donation box on your mail-in or online registration. Ultramax will make sure the additional funds are received by the Foundation.
Our Community Programs:
Amblyopia Prevention Program: travels throughout the state of Missouri screening children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years for symptoms of the condition amblyopia or “lazy eye.”
Glaucoma Detection Program: travels to communities throughout Missouri to screen individuals for symptoms of glaucoma–one of the leading causes of blindness.
Eyeglass Recycling Program: at MLERF equals improved vision for thousands of people living in impoverished nations.
Eye Care Assistance Program: pays for diagnostic testing, treatment, and non- invasive eye procedures for indigent individuals who do not qualify for government assistance.

Heartland Lions EyeBanks: HLEB is the fourth largest
eye bank in the world, and one of only a few eye banks to provide
corneas using the new DSAEK cutting technique that allows patients
to enjoy a much faster healing time. HLEB, through its cornea retrieval
and placement process, provides the gift of sight to more than
5 people each day in the US and throughout the world.
