IMPORTANT
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED - WE WILL CLOSE THE RACE AT 600 ENTRANTS.
If you have a problem, don't see yourself on the
live entry list, or have any other general questions, please do not
worry if you are unable to contact us before packet pickup! We
can make changes, answer questions, and even add you to the entry
list at packet pickup.
Most race information you will need has been updated on our website! http://ultramaxtri.com/races/wth/index.php
Don’t Forget Your ID!
You MUST pick up your own packet, and you must have a picture ID to pick up your packet. If you do not have a picture ID, we cannot let you race. There are no exceptions to this rule… please don’t drive all the way to Innsbrook without a picture ID. Your sister, friend, coach, etc vouching for you does not equal a picture ID.
What to do with your race packet numbers:
Your Run number has holes in the corners (the holes are for safety pins) – this must be worn during the entire run. You do not have to wear it during the bike portion, but you can. We recommend that you buy a race belt that you can attach your number to before the race, then slip on in the Transition Area.
Your Bike number has two adhesive strips on the back. You will fold it over your top tube (in the front, toward your stem) so that a number is visible from both sides. You will be given a specifically colored swim cap, you must wear the swim cap that is assigned to you.
Swim Waves: (Subject to change - notice will be posted at packet pickup)
OCTOMAX 8:00 -
All Men
OCTOMAX 8:04 - All Women & Teams
OCTOMAX LAST WAVE 8:07 - Available to anyone

Race Day Process
If you are getting your packet on Saturday, get there EARLY! If you are not in line for your packet by 7:35a, you may not get a timing chip (which means you may not be counted for awards). It is better to get up a little early and arrive with too much time, than to arrive with not enough time.
First, you must have your racer number before you body marking
Second, you will get in line for Body Marking (outside the door to the Transition Area)
Third, you will arrange your bike and gear in the Transition Area
Fourth, you will go to chip assignment and get your chip Finally, RELAX until the race starts

All of this can be done on-site.
All for only $12 (8X10 photo).
Les Bourgeois Custom Wine Awards will be presented to the top 3+ in each Age Group Division. Awards will be presented to the top 2 teams.
Les Bourgeois is known for its spectacular blufftop view of the Missouri River Valley, Les Bourgeois Winery and Vineyards is one of Mid-Missouri's premier cultural and recreational attractions. To make reservations or for questions about the Blufftop Bistro call (573) 60098-2300 or bistro@missouriwine.com.
NOTE: You must wear your race number during the run portion.
We strongly recommend using a race belt. Your number must be in the front when you finish.
Swim Course - The swim will be marked by Friday. You will get a chance to see and preview the course at the swim clinic. The Lake is open to swimming all week. We will be measuring water temperature starting on Friday before packet pickup. The final measurement will be Saturday morning. The course is clearly marked with bouys, with larger bouys at each turn point.
Last Swim Wave - Last Wave Option - Regardless of your age group or race distance, you can choose to swim in a special last wave (reserved for first-time lake swimmers, or athletes who are not yet comfortable with the swim). No need to decide early, you can decide on race day at the beach. Anyone wanting to go in the last wave simply waits until it is announced, we will record your racer number and make the appropriate timing adjustments. It is that simple! We will have a Last Swim Wave option as the last wave of each event. (Quartermax and Octomax)
Bike Course - This is an open bike course. The course is in great shape, with the exception of a couple rough spots. We will be on-site early in the week to repair and sweep anything we can. We will have any final updates during the pre-race meeting or packet pickup. Please be careful training on the course during the week.
Run Course - The run course is in spectacular shape. The course is out-and-back on paved and packed gravel roads, staged entirely within Innsbrook Resort... local traffic only! Arrows, signs and volunteers will help you. This is a hilly course, so please train accordingly. Racing Flats have been worn in the past with great success, but that is personal decision. Be sure to preview the course when you arrive. It will be marked and ready Friday.
Get full course maps and directions in the "Course Maps" section on the site. at left.
PLEASE - Know the Course! This is an open course (no roads are closed completely). It will be manned by volunteers and law enforcement, but is still your responsibility to know where you are going and to keep yourself safe. Please stay aware of traffic and obey traffic laws – you will be able to roll through intersections that are controlled by volunteers and police, but please still pay attention as we do not have control over motorists that do not listen to our directions. Do not pass the centerline of the road any time for any reason! If you have time PLEASE drive the course before Saturday morning!

The Who Tri's Harder? event will be timed using AMB chip timing transponders, commonly called “the chip”. Please follow these simple instructions carefully. Not wearing the transponder properly may prevent you from being timed. Transponders are non-transferable! Be careful not to switch with other participants. The chip must be on ankle at all times or you will not be scored in the event. Your timing chip will be removed by volunteers once you reach the finish line.
If you find you still have your timing chip after the race, please put it in a padded envelope and mail to: Ultramax Events 2902 Forum Blvd Suite 103 Columbia, MO 65203. YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $100 REPLACEMENT FEE IF YOU DO NOT RETURN YOUR TIMING TRANSPONDER Failure to return a chip will result in disqualification from all future events owned or timed by Ultramax Events!
Are your friends and/or family are coming to the event? Are they interested in volunteering while you race? We have positions where they can see you start, race and then be there at the finish line to greet you. Nearly 100% of all unsolicited racer comments include praise for our volunteers; this is truly what makes these events possible. The racers really appreciate your time because they know and realize they could not pursue this sport without volunteers. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at info@ultramaxtri.com.

Teams will transfer their timing chip in the transition area. The last member of the team should wear the race number on the run leg. We recommend using a race belt for easy transfer. The timing chip must be on the ankle of each team member at all times while racing.
Driving Directions From the East (From St. Louis) take Highway 70 West to the first Wright City exit (Exit 200), and travel south for five miles on Highway F. Drive time from St. Louis Intíl Airport: ~ 40 minutes.
From the West (From Kansas City) take Highway 70 east to the first Wright City exit (Exit 199); turn right at the top of the exit; then left on South Outer Road. Make a right at the stop sign, then a right onto Highway F. Continue south on Highway F for five miles. Drive time from Kansas City Intíl Airport: ~ 3 1/2 hours.
Innsbrook Resort #1 Aspen Circle Innsbrook, MO 63390 (if you can’t find this in a mapping program, enter “Wright City, MO” for your destination – after exiting to Wright City, you will be able to follow the directions listed above )
To get to the Race Site/Packet Pickup after entering the “gate”, you will take the second right (this is after a speed bump), where you will see a sign pointing toward the Condos and Aspen Lake. You will stay on this road all the way to the Race Site (it’s a couple of miles).
Race-Day Parking - Volunteers will park you, according to space, in one of two places:
Option 1- There is parking in the grass field across from the Finish Line. When that is full…
Option 2 – There is plenty of parking down the road from the Race Site/Finish Line. Depending on your spot, you may have to walk up to a half mile. Please plan to arrive early enough to walk to the race site, in case you are in overflow parking lots. DO NOT park along the road anywhere inside the resort. If you park in any “No Parking” zones, you can receive a two minute time penalty. Please be courteous to our parking volunteers. They are getting up very early for the express purpose of helping you have a great race – there are only so many spots available right at the finish line area, and it is not their fault if you do not get your ideal parking spot.
Innsbrook Resort - We just received notice that there are a few condos still available at Innsbrook Resort. This is very rare and these will go very fast. Act today if you want to stay at the race site.
Call (636)928-3366
If your family and friends are coming to cheer for you (and we hope they are!) we encourage them to stay at the race site for the duration of the event. We understand that it’s pretty sweet to have them out on the course to cheer as you go by, but every additional vehicle that is on the course while racers are on the course just adds to any risk of injury.
TrainingBible Coaches will be on-site to present a free open water swim clinic on Friday.
If you are a new triathlete you don't want to miss this free clinic.

Why should you be professionally fit for running shoes?
The technology that has gone into running shoes over the past decade has made it possible to fit nearly every foot type. Shoes are specifically designed to address a vast variety of foot shapes, weight differences, and biomechanical anomalies. There is simply no way most people can buy shoes off the internet or box stores and know they will both fit your feet and be the correct shoes for you in terms of your foot function.
At The Starting Block our team will actually prescribe the correct shoes for you - taking into account running style, running goals, body type and build, foot and body biomechanics, foot shape and profile, and injury status. We accomplish this with our exclusive Fit Perfect Analysis system. We have studied and researched how shoe fitting and gait analysis techniques are being done around the world. We merged the very best concepts into our system. Ultimately this lead to the development of our unique “FIT PERFECT" system.
The total “FREE” Fit Perfect process takes about 20-25 minutes to complete. Using our Fit Perfect system our staff has professional fit over 4,000 individuals. Only found at The Starting Block.
The Starting Block is located in Columbia, Missouri. Their new location is opening July 2008 in Springfield, Missouri. Our fitting process with be worth the trip!
