COLUMBIA: Stops along the way will occur every ~15 miles, and will offer water to fill your bike bottles. At some Columbia to Hermann stops you will have the option of going into convenience stores to purchase other drinks and/or snacks. You are free to hang out and rest for a while at any of these stops, if you’d like. One stop will offer lunch (wrap sandwiches) for the Tour riders, and water for those who are just Riding.

ST. LOUIS: The St. Louis to Hermann route is largely on the Katy Trail. There are many trail heads along the way that provide a stopping place and bathrooms. Many of these trail heads include restaurants right at the trail, or small towns less than 1/2 mile off of the trail. There will also be a lunch stop. Please bring additional food and drink along the way.

Course Description

You can choose a 130-mile ride (65 miles there on Saturday, 65 miles back on Sunday), or a 65-mile ride (ride there on Saturday, bus back on Sunday). You can also, of course, make your own arrangements to get back to Columbia or St. Louis on Saturday evening, after riding to Hermann, if you prefer to do a one-day ride and not stay the night.
You can start from Columbia (Location to be announced!), or from St. Louis (St. Charles TrailHead) – both routes are about 65 miles to Hermann.

The Columbia to Hermann route will be on open roads, with an option for some trail portions (you may choose to ride on the trail, but the trail will not include water stops). The terrain is rolling. Threre are some moderate climbs just outside of Hermann. You can avoid these hills by taking the Katy Trail for a short 4-6 mile section. Easily done on road bikes.

The St. Louis to Hermann route will be on Katy Trail. Very flat route, but could have a west wind on the way to Hermann. Possibly a nice tailwind home. There is a short (about 5 miles) section on open roads at the end, leading into Hermann.
