We expanded the scoring and updated just about everything in the Series. The Ultramax Championship Series launched in 2004 and starts over with each new season. The Series is a competition comprised of Ultramax owned races, and a select few of Missouri's best events. Participants are awarded points at each Ultramax Sports Series race based on their individual finish time versus the overall amateur's finish time. Events in the Series have a multiplier based on the specific event and bonus points. See the scoring details and rules below. You MUST complete a minimum of FOUR events to be be listed and considered in the Championship Series standings.
The Ultramax Championship Jackets have become the most popular award we have ever offered. The Series now revolves around those jackets. Will you be wearing one in 2012?

IMPORTANT - You don't have to win races to be the Ultramax Series Champion, you will earn points just for crossing the finish line! Some of the top divisional winners are decided by participation points!
2012 Series RULES
(These rules have been updated so please read carefully): .
- • NEW FOR 2012 - Ultramax Sports will present awards to the Overall Male and Female Open and Master Champions, and the top three in each ten-year age classification.
- • NEW FOR 2012 - In addition to the multiplier points, you will also earn the bonus points for each series race you finish. See below for multiplier scoring details.
- • NEW FOR 2012 - Participants will earn the bonus points listed above for each additional race you do beyond your FOUR best scored Series races, Those extra bonus points will be added to your total base score.
- • To be eligible for Series awards, you must complete a minimum of FOUR 2012 Series events.
- • Prizes and annual Team Ultramax Memberships are are not transferable between years or people
- • Each team member in AdventureMax Team triathlon will receive the same calculated score
- • Max-O-Mania Solo Participants will be scored as individual racers in both Quartermax and Max-O-Mania. They will also receive the 25 bonus points for Quartermax.
- ------Solo Individual Example: Quartermax multiplier score + Max-O-Mania multiplier score + 25 bonus points = The Final Solo/Individual Score
- • Max-O-Mania 2-Person Team members will receive the same calculated multiplier score for Max-O-Maniai and will also receive 75 bonus points. Team members will NOT be scored as individuals in The Quartermax Triathlon.
- ------Team Example: Max-O-Mania Teams multiplier score + 75 bonus points = The Final Score for both Max-O-Mania and Quartermax Triathlons.
- • The Elite Division in TriZou will be scored as a completely separate event using the same multiplier formula and bonus points as the Age Group Sprint Triathlon.
- • Epic Mud Run - Is for fun, but you can still earn 25 bonus points for doing the race.
- IMPORTANT - Ultramax Sports reserves the right to modify and adjust the current rules during the season.

In 2012, we decided to go much deeper and spread out our award categories. The overall and masters champions will be pulled from the ten year age divisions above. 2012 Ultramax Sports Championship Series Scoring
Participants are awarded multiplier points and points based on their finish time versus the overall amateur's finish time. First, the times are converted to minutes (i.e. a time of 2 hrs 15 minutes and 30 seconds would be converted to 135.50 minutes), then the overall winner's time is divided by each participant's time, and multiplied by 100. This formula will determine each participant's base score.
NOTE: YOU MUST BE AN ANNUAL USAT MEMBER PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST SERIES RACE TO BE SCORED IN THE SERIES.

- Racer A won the race overall with a time of 2:10:45 (130.75 min)
- Racer B finished in 6th place with a time of 2:25:30 (145.50 min)
- Racer B's score: 130.75 / 145.50 X 100 = .89862 base score ... or 89.62 points
- 89.62 X (the specific event multiplier) = Final Series Score
Races in the Series will have a multiplier based on the specific event and specific bonus points
These multipliers and bonus points are used to determine each racer's final score.
